A wind instrument has finger-holes (3) which can be closed as desired by keys (6) in order to change the pitch. The keys (6) contain sealing inserts (7) made of a plastic material (8), which is introduced into the keys where it solidifies, and an overlay (9) which covers the plastic material. The overlay is made of a flexible porous material, and a plastic coating or a plastic film (12) or a skin can be bonded to the side of the overlay (9) facing the finger-hole (3) to be closed. The side of the overlay facing the finger-hole to be closed or a coating, film or skin on this overlay advantageously has a finely roughened surface texture. To advantageously obtain the sealing inserts, a small disc for making the overlay (9) is placed over the finger-hole (3) to be closed and detachably fastened to this finger-hole, the corresponding key (6) is filled with a solidifiable plastic material and placed in its closed position, the plastic material is allowed to solidify and the overlay is detached from the finger-hole. |
