A coating made of refractory fibres for solid bending formers against which there are applied during the bending process sheets of glass heated above their deformation temperature, the said refractory fibres being united without any binder. The coating according to the invention has a texture which permits the refractory fibres to be torn away one by one. The invention applies especially to the production of motor vehicle glazing.
