<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering system that can prevent a response delay in the output of a solenoid current command value SI. <P>SOLUTION: A controller C stores, as a table, basic current command values I1 corresponding to combinations of steering angle and steering angular velocity. The controller C obtains a basic current command value I1 from the table and multiplies the obtained basic current command value I1 by a current command value I2 set according to vehicle speed.
