On the inside or underneath of the lid at one or both sides is a moulded bearing tongue (20) which extends from its root (22) towards the rear lid edge (28). One of the bearing pins (18) is moulded onto the tongue to protrude sideways. The tongue can be elastically bent relative to the lid and both in the axial direction of the bearing pin parallel to the inner lid face (26) and also across same until stopping against the inner lid face. When opened the lid stops with its outer face against a rear wall edge (30) of the lower part of the container by exerting a bending moment which bends the tongue towards the inner lid face. The bearing recesses (16) which are moulded in opposite side walls (14) and open into the container form closed bearing eyes.
