PURPOSE: To obtain a stretchable nonwoven fabric excellent in stretchability and strength balance in vertical and horizontal directions and provide a method for producing the nonwoven fabric. CONSTITUTION: This nonwoven fabric comprises entwining a fiber web consisting mainly of cross laid web with a fluid stream jet and contains crimped fiber and has fluid stream jet trace at 0.7-5mm interval. The nonwoven fabric is obtained by entwining the fiber web consisting mainly of the cross laid web with a fluid stream jet jetted from a nozzle plate having 1.2-10mm hole interval and then developing crimp of the latent crimping fiber by heat treatment. |
