PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material having good storage stability of colored image, or plasticizer resistance, and good moisture resistance. SOLUTION: In a thermal recording material in which a thermosensible coupling layer containing a leuco dye which is colorless or slightly colored at ordinary temperature and an acidic organic substance which couples with the leuco dye by heating is formed on a support, the coupling layer contains 2-2-bis(4'-hydroxyphenyl)-4-methylpentane as the acidic compound and one or more kinds of compounds selected from sulfonyl hydrazide derivatives expressed by formula (wherein, R1 represents an aryl group or a lower alkyl group; R2 and R3 independently represent a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; R4 represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, an alkoxy group, or a halogen atom) and 4-acetylbiphenyl as a sensitizer. |
