FIELD: manufacture of building materials, namely making tiles for facing building constructions and apparatuses for separating blanks of fragile materials. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of making blank in the form of briquette having at least two tiles mutually joined by means of bridges and having at least one parting plane crossing said bridges; drying it, firing and separating blank by two tiles along parting plane due to applying efforts at least upon two surfaces of blank crossing parting plane at different sides from said plane and directed one towards another; at first applying efforts for creating in bridges preliminary stress less than ultimate strength value; then increasing effort for breaking bridges; selecting time period for applying efforts from time moment of creating preliminary stress until breaking bridges in range 0.1 - 1 s. Apparatus for separating blank of fragile material includes substrate for placing blank; at least two force members, each having portion with flat or convex surface, mounted in such a way that spacing between projections of those planes of said portions on substrate surface lowers from value equal to or exceeding distance between two mutually parallel surfaces of blank until value less than said distance; pusher engaging with blank and attachment for receiving halves of blank after separating it. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of method due to making tile blank for building constructions having at least two parts, each forming separate tile. 11 cl, 7 dwg |
