摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce operation quantity when a different mobile object approaching from the back is detected and to realize detection on a real time basis by automatically monitoring the back state of a mobile object based on image data obtained by picking up the back state of the mobile object with asymmetrical view on the travel direction. SOLUTION: Cameras 11 are arranged on side mirrors at the right/left of the car body of a self-vehicle by turning a view center axis direction to the prescribed angle of the outer side of the car body. A part of the back of the car body of the self-vehicle is contained in the view ranges of the respective cameras 11 and they become asymmetrical view ranges at the right/left of the car body with respect to the center axis of the car body. The vehicle speed, the winker lighting state and the handle angle of the self-vehicle are used in an arithmetic unit 15 as the parameters of the self-vehicle at the time of judging the possibility of collision with the different vehicle approaching to the self- vehicle from the back. The arithmetic unit 15 detects the other vehicles approaching from the back at every image frame outputted from the cameras 11 at the right/left. The back state of the mobile object is automatically monitored based on image data which is thus image-picked up.
