<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a deodorization at a high efficiency and at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: Ozone is added from a nozzle 216 and a mist is added from a nozzle 215 to gas introduced to a helical space 208 to decompose an odor component. The mist is further added on a downstream side and a decomposed component of the odor component taken in the mist is captured to remove it from a vapor phase as a water drop. The gas to be treated is moved from a space 225 to a space 223 through a slight gap 224 formed from a water surface 214 and water is blown up from the water surface to the space 223 together with the gas to be treated.
