PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide engine parts which are prevented from wearing and have excellent heat resistance and to provide a method for manufacturing the parts. SOLUTION: The engine parts excellent in wear resistance have a zirconium thin film on the surface of the base parts. The thin film is derived from a zirconia film forming precursor composition containing a zirconium compound, aminopolycarboxylic acid, amines and a solvent.
