<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize a portable telephone set as a monitoring terminal in a remote monitoring system. <P>SOLUTION: Information obtained by an inputting means, for example, a microphone for speech communication, a built-in camera, etc., or a key operating means is confirmed by installing, for example, a necessary program to a portable telephone set that is generally and widely used, and the establishment of a warning condition is discriminated. A warning is transmitted to a monitor station in accordance with the fact that the warning condition is discriminated to be established, and the present sound or image obtained by, for example, the inputting means is further transmitted to the monitor station as additional information following the warning.
