PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create an operation schedule which takes into consideration an engine driving time required for self-diagnosis of a vehicle, thus suppressing deterioration of fuel consumption due to execution of self-diagnosis of the vehicle.SOLUTION: A control device for a hybrid vehicle comprises: a navigation device 9 for searching a route to a destination and detecting a road state of the route found; and a vehicle control device 7 having a self-diagnosis function for performing self-diagnosis of the hybrid vehicle when an engine 1 is being activated. A section in which fuel consumption up to the destination is expected to be smallest if the engine 1 is activated continuously for a time required for self-diagnosis is selected from the route to the destination. Then, operation schedules for the engine 1 and a motor 2 are created so that self-diagnosis is completed with the engine 1 activated in the selected section, and the engine 1 and the motor 2 are controlled based on the created operation schedules.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
