PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a robust voltage regulator, for example, a voltage clamp circuit capable of operating at a high voltage and a high current in a transmission grid or another circuit.SOLUTION: The regulatable voltage clamp circuit (high voltage current regulator circuit 10) positioned between a first terminal 13 and a second terminal 15 has a bidirectional voltage clamper 23 (bidirectional cold cathode field emission tetrode tube) and a bias circuit. The voltage clamp circuit can generate a regulatable operating threshold voltage by an input of a control signal into a first control grid and a second control grid connected with at least one cold cathode field emission electronic tube. The bias circuit applies a bias to the bidirectional voltage clamper through the first control grid 28 and the second control grid 31 to set an operating threshold voltage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
