<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a mobile station to search for an adjacent cell with low power consumption under a multi-cell radio communication environment in which no linkage nor TDMA frame synchronization is established between cells. <P>SOLUTION: In a radio communication system, a base station collectively manages information on adjacent cells searched by mobile stations and, when one mobile station searches for an adjacent cell, the base station can give the information on adjacent cells to the mobile station as the information on the adjacent cell. Since the information on the adjacent cells includes TDMA offset, etc., between the cells, the mobile station can search for the adjacent cell without making useless receiving operations at hand-off time by receiving the broadcast channel of the adjacent cell at accurate timing based on the information on the adjacent cells. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
