PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make estimable the coke strength on the basis of the blending ratio of coal blend by evaluating the state of an aromatic condensed ring in a coal molecule about the constitution coal for the coal blend, and finding the relationship between the result of evaluation and the strength of coke after the carbonization of the coal blend. SOLUTION: The spectrum by a laser Raman spectroscopic analyzing method is measured on original coal of each brand composing coal blend, and for example, the characteristic value of G band peak or D band peak is found on each material coal on the basis of the spectrum. Plural kinds of coal blends different in kinds of brand of coal and/or a blending ratio, are prepared, and a Raman half value width of each coal blend is calculated on the basis of a half value width of each brand. Each coal blend is carbonized to produce coke, and the strength of each coke is measured. The correlation is found on the basis of the Raman half width of each coal blend and the strength of coke by plotting and the like. The strength of coke after the carbonization can be accurately estimated on the basis of only a blending ratio on the remarked coal blend by using the correlation.
