The pump has a connection unit connected with a connecting rod, where a position of the unit is sensed by a position sensor (36) that works according to a non-contact principle. The connection unit and the position sensor are arranged outside of a dosing head (12), where the position sensor gives an actual signal for position of the connection unit such that a displacement organ stands in a fixed connection. The position sensor provides motion sequence of the displacement organ so that electronic controlling of the pump responds to operating conditions of a dosing circle and the pump.
