A bar holding unit body (1) capable of holding a rod-like body (8) such as a walking stick and capable of being provided on an existing facility such as a table or a counter. The bar holding unit body (1) has a body section (2) having a cutout recess (20) that receives the rod-like body (8) and integrating an elastic member (3). The elastic member (3) has a pair of opposed sections (320) arranged so as to project inward from both opposed sides of the inner periphery of the cutout recess (20) and provided so that the distance between the opposed sections can be increased and decreased. The rod holding unit body (1) is preferably constructed from the body section (2) and a frame body (4) for movably holding the body section (2) and fixable to the existing facility (9). The body section (2) is preferably slidable relative to the frame body (4).
