<p>A fender liner (20) to be fitted to an automobile wheel house (12), comprising a breathable base material layer (30) produced by forming a fiber assembly into the shape along the wheel house (12) and a protective layer (40) of waterproof material superimposed on the surface (30a) of the base material layer (30) opposite to the side facing the wheel house (12), wherein the protective layer (40) is provided with multiple through-holes (42) for flow of air through the protective layer (40) to the surface (30a) of the base material layer (30) on which the protective layer is superimposed. The fender liner (20) is produced through a process comprising superimposing a waterproof thermoplastic filmlike material (46) on one surface of a breathable sheetlike material (36) of fiber assembly, passing multiple hot needles (134) through the filmlike material (46) from the side of the filmlike material by the use of a perforator (130) equipped with multiple hot needles (134) to thereby form multiple through-holes (47), and while heating the filmlike material (46) and the sheetlike material (36) in the state of being superimposed on each other, forming the same into the shape along the wheel house (12).</p> |
