NETWORKING COMPUTER AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING POWER OF IDE DISK

PURPOSE: A networking computer and a method for controlling the power of an IDE(Integrated Drive Electronics) disk are provided to offer the networking computer having an IDE disk RAID(Redundant Arrays of Independent Disks) storing device capable of how-swap. CONSTITUTION: A backplane board(5) is connected with the IDE disks. A bridge board connects the IDE disks with the backplane board(5). A main board is connected with the backplane board(5) through a cable and processes data by accessing the IDE disks. A power supply supplies power to the IDE disks installed to the backplane board(5). An EPLD(Enhanced Programmable Logic Device)(7) detects the presence of the IDE disks based on an order of connecting/disconnecting each pin in a compact PCI(Peripheral Component Interconnect) connector, and turns on/off the power of the IDE disks based on a detecting result.
