FIELD: construction.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to construction and can be used for geological research and design of buildings and structures in the area of distribution of permafrost soils. Method of determining the amount of unfrozen water in frozen soils includes: defrosting of the frozen soil to a temperature below the preset defrosting start temperature, simultaneous recording of the sample temperature and time, plotting the change in time logarithm of excessive temperature defined as the difference between the sample temperature and the medium temperature, fixing by the plotted curve of time and temperature of defrosting start, plotting the sample temperature change in time, at which the time and temperature of defrosting completion are determined, and calculation of required amount of unfrozen water out of the given relationship. Frozen soil sample is placed into a metal vessel with a bottom. After defrosting the sample is saturated with water till complete filling the pores and the initial height of the sample is measured. Defrosted sample of frozen soil is frosted with step-increasing negative temperature while holding at each stage until the sample deformation stops. At each temperature step the deformation indication is read.EFFECT: technical result is the improvement of measurement accuracy, providing the ability of determining the amount of unfrozen water in frozen soils by water-saturated samples, simplification of the unfrozen water amount calculations.5 cl, 1 dwg |
