The method for machining using erosive discharges makes it possible, in a single pass, to correct the shape (A) of a cut made in a workpiece (2) in order to give it the correct profile (B). The electrode, constituted by a wire (1), is moved along a corrected path (C'), with respect to the path (C), so as to take into account the increase in the lateral EDM distance (GL) arising from the reduction in the tangential velocity (VT), which results from the increase in the material thickness to be removed in order to pass from the profile (A) to the profile (B). <IMAGE>
