PURPOSE:To form a picture with an appropriate picture density according to the picture density of an original by receiving and detecting light in an optical system at a detecting and setting position and controlling a value outputted to an exposing means according to the detected value. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 34 moves a light receiving sensor 16 in a position corresponding to an area specified by a copy, and detects a picture density of the specified area. If there are many specified areas or the specified area is too large to scan in a single action, they are scanned several times by moving the light receiving sensor 16 to respective positions. Then, densities of the specified areas of the original 2 are measured, and weighted by their space, etc., following which an electrification control part 22 determines a voltage outputted from an electrifying charger 40. Ultimately copying is performed to obtain an appropriate picture density. thus, a picture with an appropriate picture density can be formed according to the picture density of the original 2. |
