<p>An air bag assembly adapted to fit vehicle interior panel (20) comprises a housing (44) including a first wall (100), an opposite second wall (102) and a flexible wall member (106) secured to the first wall (100) defining a space (132) therebetween. One of the first wall (100) and flexible wall member (106) includes a plurality or first tabs (112). The second wall (102) includes at least one louver (122) forming a pocket (123) and a plurality of outwardly extending tabs (120). A deployment door includes a cover (30), an integral hinge flange (60) comprising a plurality of openings (70) engageable with a correponding one of the depressions or first tabs (112) and at least one integral engagement member (80) defining a tear seam (86) opposite the hinge flange (60). Each engagement member is adapted to mate with a corresponding louver (122), whereupon after inflation of the air bag, the air bag urges the cover outwardly breaking the tear seam (86) and permitting the cover to pivot about the hinge (62).</p> |
