PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the 'rattle' in the opening direction of a sliding door in a state of completely latching a hook piece in closing the door. SOLUTION: This latching mechanism for the hook piece of a sliding door lock comprises a supporting spring 15 mounted in a strike body 11, a movable catching member 17 for hook piece suspended on the supporting spring 15, and attracted to a tip part 6 of the hook piece 1 by magnetic force, and an engagement receiving plate 30 fixed to receiving plate 12 of the strike to lock the movable catching member 17 in sliding the sliding door 2 in the opening direction.
