PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce voice data during shuttle reproduction. SOLUTION: A CPU 53 controls outputs from the buffer 16 of video data and voice data to HDDs 1201 , 1202 ,..., 120n-3 , 120n-2 , 120n-1 , 120n at recording, and brings the positions where voice data are recorded before the positions where video data are recorded for each GOP. The CPU 53 controls the outputs from a buffer 111 to a data bus 130 at reproduction, and reproduces voice data prior to the video data for each GOP. At shuttle reproduction, data of prescribed data length is reproduced from a head for each GOP, and the voice data and a coded image in the frame of the head of the video data are reproduced.
