PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the safety when a vehicle advances into a cruising lane from a merging lane of a freeway. SOLUTION: A first traveling vehicle detector A1, a second traveling vehicle detector A2 and an information display device a1 are disposed successively along the advancing direction of a traveling vehicle X1 before a merging point G of the cruising lane A. A first merging vehicle detector B1, a second merging vehicle detector B2 and an information display device b1 are also disposed on a merging lane B successively along the advancing direction of a merging vehicle Y1. The first traveling vehicle detector A1 and the second merging vehicle detector B1 detect the speed and the acceleration of the traveling vehicle X1 passing the side and the merging vehicle Y1, and detect each number of the vehicles X1 and Y1. The positional relationship of the vehicles X1 and Y1 when the vehicles X1 and Y1 reach the merging point G is estimated based on the detection data, and displayed on the information display devices a1 and b1, respectively.
