<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which generates an intermediate density in a short time without changing a drum potential. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device is constituted of a patch generation means for generating black-and-white binary patches on a photosensitive drum, a plurality of registers 1 to which initial values can be set from the outside, a signal generation means for generating horizontal and vertical patch effective area signals, a counter 3 for counting edges of the horizontal patch effective area signal, a selector 2 for selecting one of the plurality of registers by the output of the counter 3, a clock generation means which is installed in parallel with the patch generation means and generates a PWM clock for driving a PWM circuit 13 which outputs a PWM signal for image data, and a shift register 4 which receives the output of the selector 2 and shifts data by the PWM clock bit by bit to generate a patch generation signal and feedbacks the output to the input. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
