A dehumidifier is provided to mount a side panel movably to open or close suction holes formed between the side panel and a main body case, thereby removing distinguishment in air suction/discharge directions in the appearance for improving the appearance and placing the dehumidifier at any position as desired. A dehumidifier includes a side panel(130) mounted to front and rear frames(110,120) of a main body case and movable in the to and fro direction by moving units. Suction holes(112,122) are formed in gaps between the side panels and the main body case. The moving units have driving parts formed of pinions(132a) and pinion motors connected to the pinions via pinion rotary shafts, and racks(114,124) coupled with the driving parts to guide the movement of the side panel.
