PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball shooting unit capable of improving the safety and reproducibility of a ball shooting strength in the ball shooting by a manual operation, and improving the degree of flexibility in disposition design in a game machine; and the game machine having the same unit. SOLUTION: The Mahjong ball machine 2 is provided with a rotating handle 33 adapted to rotate from a home position to a prescribed direction based on the manual operation, a spring 33d returning the rotating handle 33 toward the home position, a shooting hammer 34 for shooting a ball 20 in a shooting position 32a, and a ball shooting strength determination part 35 for determining the ball shooting strength by the shooting hammer 34 based on a returning time from finishing the operation of the rotating handle 33 till returning to the home position.
