A method of agitating a treatment liquid. Agitators with tip portions are rotated inside a vessel (2) at a sufficient speed to impart a rotational movement to the treatment liquid (L) so that by centrifugal force the liquid is brought into close contact with an internal surface of the vessel in the shape of a hollow, cylindrical film, and this is agitated by the tip portions. Also claimed is an apparatus for agitating a treatment liquid.
