PURPOSE: A method of making soft styrofoam plate for using as floor impact noise absorbing material in apartment house is provided, wherein the plate is adapted to use in the upper surface of a slab of an under floor heating structure in an apartment house to reduce floor impact noise occurred between upstairs and downstairs in the apartment house. CONSTITUTION: In a method of making soft styrofoam plate for using as floor impact noise absorbing material in apartment house, the soft styrofoam plate for absorbing impact from the upper portion is made by additionally pressuring a final product of a styrofoam block produced in a general production process and, thus, breaking overall inner structure in a horizontal direction. The styrofoam block produced with density of 0.012 to 0.016 Kg/cm¬3 in a general process is inserted into a press driving upward and downward, pressed by reduction amount of 20 to 50 % of original block dimension, released from the pressure after 5 to 30 minutes, and then ejected from the press. When the block is left as it is under no pressure for 2 to 5 days in an outer filed and is allowed to recover its dimension to 80 to 92 % of a dimension prior to pressuring, the state of the block becomes to be soften. When the soft styrofoam block of which structure is broken in a horizontal direction is cut as a constant thickness of 15 to 50 mm, each of cut plates becomes to be a soft styrofoam and, thus, has performances that is likely to be bended by a bending force component and that absorbs impact force in a vertical direction, so that the plate can be used as a floor impact noise absorbing material for absorbing impact noise between upstairs and downstairs.
