PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for drying and treating a waste capable of reducing a fuel fee and an electric bill. SOLUTION: The method for drying and treating the waste comprises the steps of drying and treating the waste by utilizing a high temperature exhaust heat to be exhausted from a cogeneration system as a pretreatment such as incinerating, gasifying melting, RDF making treatment or the like. The method comprises the steps of supplying a high temperature exhaust heat to be exhausted from the cogeneration system to a hot air furnace, further raising the temperature of the exhaust heat in the furnace, and drying the waste by using the exhaust heat. Thus, the fuel fee required for drying can be saved. The electric bill of the incinerating, gasifying melting, RDF making facility or the like can be reduced.
