Linear drive device comprises a shifting arrangement (26) having a shifting unit (27) containing a contraction drive (28) for producing a pushing force. The contraction drive has a tubing (33) extending between end pieces (32a, 32b). Fluid impingement of the inner chamber of the tubing longitudinally contracts the drive. The drive is fixed to a drive part and to a base part on one end and has a coupling element (42) for coupling with the drive and base parts. Preferred Features: A shifting force is exerted on the drive part by the shifting unit in the start-up phase of the linear movement. |
