The machine tool has a cutting tool piece, e.g. drill (3.2) or tap (3.1) held in a chuck (2.1) in a holder (1.1,1.2) fitted onto the spindle to which the power is applied. Fitted into this is a torque and/or a force transducer (5.1,5.2) that outputs signals transmitted inductively to a stator receiver (6.1,6.2). This connects with the machine computer.
