PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control apparatus for chemical plants and a chemical plant operation support method that can support the operation of chemical plants by modeling the manufacturing process of each chemical plant and simulating the predictable quality of the products manufactured by the plant.SOLUTION: A control apparatus for supporting the operation of chemical plants comprises: a reaction control unit that references a physicochemical calculation model for values detected by a sensor disposed in a given chemical plant, calculates the calculable physicochemical quantity at the time of detection by sensor of the chemical substance manufactured and references a process management chart for the calculable physicochemical quantity at the time of detection by the sensor to determine guidance information for the operation support; and a display unit that displays the values detected by the sensor, the calculable physicochemical quantity at the time of sensor detection and the guidance information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
