PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-definition liquid crystal display device capable of being used outdoors, and less likely to cause color tone change.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises: a pair of light translucent substrates; a pixel portion including at least a liquid crystal element between the pair of substrates; an illumination part for delivering light at least to the pixel portion, provided outside the pair of substrates; a first polarization member between the pair of substrates and the illumination part; a reflection member outside the illumination part; a second polarization member on a side opposite to the first polarization member via the pair of substrates; and first and second optical sensors provided outside the pixel portion so as to face the pair of substrates via a polarization plate. The first optical sensor has a function of sensing the illuminance of external light and the second optical sensor has a function of sensing the color tone of the polarization light emitted from the pixel portion. The liquid crystal display device has a function of emitting light with a particular wavelength from a light source in accordance with the color tone of the pixel portion sensed by the second optical sensor and a function of correcting the color tone of the pixel portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
