A shorting plug is for use with circuit distribution appts. having a number of chambers into which plugs can be inserted, each chamber having contacts on opposite internal walls. The plug has a flat insulating body with a lower portion shaped to match that of the chamber into which the plug is to be inserted.A one-piece shorting member (3) disposed within the body has portions (10,10') which extend beyond the body in positions corresp.with the contact positions within the chambers. The upper portion of the body is enlarged to provide a finger grip for inserting or removing the plug. The body may be constructed in two halves to facilitate installation of the member within the plug body
