摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out automatic traveling for the vehicle to reach a destination at a target arrival time. <P>SOLUTION: A target car speed required for the vehicle to reach the destination at the target arrival time is operated based on a traveling distance from the present position to the destination and a traveling time from the present time to the target arrival time, and a target acceleration is calculated based on this target car speed. Further, target driving force is calculated based on the target acceleration and a traveling resistance and a target axle torque determined from this target driving force is converted to a target output torque of an engine using a rotation resistance of respective power transmission system, a speed change ratio of an automatic change gear, a transmission efficiency or the like. The actual speed and the actual acceleration of the vehicle are controlled to the target car speed and the target acceleration respectively by controlling an air system, a fuel system and an ignition system of the engine based on this target output torque.
