摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate layer which is improved in durability by suppressing the change of the exchange bonding strength to repetition of overwriting with lapse of time. SOLUTION: This magneto-optical disk is manufactured by forming a substrate 1 of a plastic substrate, a recording layer 2 of Td24 Fe68 Co8 (about 300Å), a recording assistance layer 4 of Gd6 Dy24 Fe56 Co14 (about 200Å), a control layer 5 of Tb24 Fe76 (about 100Å), an initialization layer 6 of Tb31 Co69 (about 200Å), and the intermediate 3 of (Gd33.4 Fe46.6 Co20.0 )1-x Ax (0.1<=x<=0.5, A; Cu, Au, Al, Ag, Mn or Ti) having 50Åthickness. The change of the exchange bonding strength with lapse of time as small as <=1.22 in Hw /Hwo when the magneto- optical recording medium is subjected 100000 times of overwriting. The disk maintains C/N at a high level of >=46.3dB.
