PURPOSE: An electric heating type rolling apparatus is provided which improves reduction ratio and prevents overheating of metal strip and surface oxidation of the metal strip accordingly by conducting a pulse current to the metal strip. CONSTITUTION: In a rolling apparatus for rolling a metal strip(S) transferred in a direction, the electric heating type rolling apparatus comprises a plural work rolls(120) contacted with the metal strip to reduce the metal strip; a power supply unit(118) for producing and supplying a pulse current; and first and second conductive electrode members which are oppositely directed to each other at the upper flow side before the metal strip passes through the work rolls and at the lower flow side after the metal strip passes through the work rolls and electrically connected to the power supply unit to impress the pulse current to the metal strip, wherein the first and second conductive electrode members comprise a pair of electrode contact members(130,140) respectively positioned at upper and lower parts of the metal strip, and the respective electrode contact members comprise first contact part(132) contacted with the metal strip, a flat plate part(133) extended to the side of the work rolls from an end of the first contact part with being spaced apart from the metal strip in a certain distance, and second contact part(138) extended from an end of the flat plate part and contacted with the metal strip.
