PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to operate recording and reproduction from one side of a base body by providing this device with an energy conversion means for converging recording energy on a recording film, a slider sliding on the recording film surface, and a magnetic field generation means which is mounted on this slider and generates a magnetic field in the neighborhood of the conversion position of the recording energy. SOLUTION: A laser beam emitted from a semiconductor laser 216 passes through a diffraction grating 217 and a grating SIL 218, and then heats a recording film 222 on a base 221. Here, an area heated by the laser beam is narrower than a magnetic field impression area, and the recording film 222 has an axis of easy magnetization in the direction vertical to the film surface, and has a coercive force higher than the recording magnetic field applied externally at normal temperatures, and has a coercive force lower than the recording magnetic field when heated by the laser beam at the time of recording. Since the slider 219 mounted with the grating SIL 218 for recording operation and a recording coil 220, and a slider 224 mounted with a GMR element 223 for reproducing operation are independent of each other, it is possible to carry out the recording operation and the reproducing operation completely independently of each other in parallel. |
