PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording apparatus capable of shortening the time from a point of time when a recording head is restored to printing by sorting the return time of the ink drop adhering to a nozzle forming surface into a nozzle, that is, by rapidly setting the recording head read to perform wiping after pressurization. SOLUTION: In an ink jet recording apparatus having a recording head 10 having a plurality of nozzles for discharging ink, an ink supply means for supplying ink to the recording head 10 and a restoration means for restoring the recording head 10, a moving means for moving the recording head 10 up and down with respect to a printing surface is provided and, when ink is discharged from the recording head 10 by the ink supply means in order to restore the recording head, the recording head 10 is moved in a direction wherein head difference becomes larger than the ink supply means to reduce the pressure in the recording head to shorten the time required in restoration. |
