PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new applications of an isoindolinone derivative exhibiting excellent biological effects as an insecticide for agriculture and horticulture. SOLUTION: The insecticide for agriculture and horticulture comprises the isoindolinone derivative as an active ingredient. The isoindolinone derivative is represented by formula (I) (wherein A1is hydrogen atom and A2is a group represented by formula (1) or (2), or A1and A2together form a group N-R2or a group represented by formula (4); A3is the group R2or a group represented by formula (6); R1is a halogen, an alkyl, an alkoxy, or the like; (m) is 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4; R2is an alkyl, or the like; R3is hydrogen or an alkyl; R4is a halogen, an alkyl, a haloalkyl, or the like; (n) is 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4).
