PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound pickup device and method that suppresses a background noise component from being picked up even when intense background noise is present at a periphery of the sound source of a target sound.SOLUTION: A sound pickup device 100 includes: a directivity generation part 2 which generates directivity in a direction to a target area for outputs of microphone arrays MA1, MA2; a target area sound extraction part 6 which extracts a target area sound from an output of the directivity generation part 2 while suppressing a component of a non-target area sound; an amplitude spectrum ratio calculation part 7 which calculates an amplitude spectrum ratio of each frequency from an amplitude spectrum calculated from an output of the target area sound extraction part 6 and an amplitude spectrum of an input signal to a microphone array, and adds the amplitude spectrum of each frequency to calculate an amplitude spectrum ratio countable value; an area sound determination part 8 which determines whether a target area sound is present using the amplitude spectrum ratio countable value; and output means of outputting the target area sound when it is determined that the target area sound is present and not outputting the target area sound when not.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
