摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for performing post processing by using mode information indicating similarity between right and left channel signals in MPEG-1 layer 3-audio data. <P>SOLUTION: In the audio decoding method and device, a 1st mode for decoding only high frequency components of one channel when a signal difference between two channels is small and utilizing the decoded high frequency components for the decoding of high frequency components of the other channel or a 2nd mode for decoding high frequency components while jumping every other frame individually in the right and left channels when the signal difference between both the channels is large and decoding the high frequency component of the jumped frame by interpolating the high frequency components of preceding and succeeding frames is selected to decode the high frequency components by small calculation quantity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
