BACKING PAPER FOR WALLPAPER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backing paper for wallpaper that does not cause stains of a drier in a papermaking step or a drying step, is excellent in dimensional stability during the application of wallpaper and is excellent in peeling suitability when peeling wallpaper from a wall surface.SOLUTION: The backing paper for wallpaper is composed of a paper substrate which contains at least: a fiber comprising a pulp fiber and a synthetic fiber having a core-sheath structure; and a filler. The backing paper for wallpaper contains a filler in a ratio of 2 mass% or more in the total solid content of the paper substrate. The core part of the synthetic fiber having a core-sheath structure has a melting point of 200°C or higher and the sheath part has a melting point of 115°C or higher. The backing paper for wallpaper has an interlaminar strength of the paper of 55 N/m or less after heating at a temperature of at least or higher than 100°C and lower than the melting point of the sheath part.SELECTED DRAWING: None
