Rail points having a slide chair which on its upper side possesses a sliding covering as support for a transversely displaceable tongue blade, characterised in that at least one slide chair 5 provided with a friction-reducing layer 6 is fitted releasably on that face of the slide chair 4 which faces the tongue blade 2, in a manner at least partly overlapping the side faces 4a of the slide chair 4 by way of side faces 5a. This thin slide chair makes it possible completely to dispense with lubrication and, in short operating interruptions, to retrofit points with this slide chair or to carry out replacements rapidly. <IMAGE>
