ELECTRODE FOR ELECTROFUSION JOINT MEMBER AND ELECTRFUSION JOINT MEMBER USED THEREWITH

PURPOSE:To secure the contact area of an electrode and a heat generation means and also to secure connection of the electrode and a power source by fitting the electrode constituted of a braided wire being the knitted cord of electroconductive fiber to a heating element layer which consists of thermoplastic resin containing electroconductive particles in a part of a joint member. CONSTITUTION:In an electrofusion joint member 1, a pipe 2 formed of thermoplastic resin is melted and joined by utilizing heat generation of a resistor in a time for conducting electricity. In the case, an electrode 5 used for the joint member 1 is formed of a braided wire being the knitted cord of electroconductive fiber as shown in (1). Further the braided wire may be provided with a core formed of thermo-plastic resin containing electroconductive particles as shown in (2). Furthermore the joint member 1 is provided with a heating element layer 4 formed of thermoplastic resin containing electroconductive particles, a base body 3 formed of resin which has shape holding property in the melting point of thermoplastic resin and a fusion layer formed of thermoplastic resin at request. The electrode 5 is fitted to the heating element layer 4 and a power source 6 is connected thereto.
