SIM card reader for a mobile telecommunication device

A mobile telecommunications device has a housing (15) including a wall (15a) separating a main compartment of the housing from a battery compartment. A SIM card reading device (10) mounted in the main compartment is aligned with a through hole in the wall (15a) which through hole is shaped to receive the SIM card (16). A clip (17) is provided for retaining the SIM card in contact with the reader.
