摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to efficiently manufacture a junction body suitable as a membrane-electrode junction in a electrochemical device such as a direct methanol type fuel cell with excellent dimensional stability, heat resistance, and methanol non-permeability, and with an excellent jointing property between an electrode layer and an ion exchange membrane hardly generating exfoliation. <P>SOLUTION: A part of the polymeric monomer is made infiltrated into a void part of the porous base material, by making a mixture of conductive particles such as catalyst-carrying carbon and a polymeric monomer (composition) generating a cross-linked polymer in contact with the surface of a porous base material such as polyethylene porous film, and another part of the polymeric monomer is made to remain on the surface of the porous base material together with the conductive particles. Then, the junction body formed by integrally polymerizing the polymer not containing the conductive particles and the polymer containing the conductive particles, by polymerizing polymerizable monomer at an appropriate condition. Afterwards, a junction body useful as a membrane-electrode junction for an electrochemical device is obtained by introducing an ion exchange group or the like as needed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
